"The majority of land in Canada lies within the direct jurisdiction of federal or provincial authorities. This paper provides an overview of Crown land management practices in these eleven separate jurisdictions. The information presented originated primarily from a national survey. Each jurisdiction is separately described according to four main categories: administrative framework, operational procedures, specific transactions and information base. This overview study does not attempt to be definitive yet it does provide a new national compendium of information which was previously lacking"--Abstract.
