"The Arctic cod ( Boreogadus saida ) is circumpolar in distribution and is reported to occur along the Labrador coast south to the northwestern Gulf of St. Lawrence (Leim and Scott, 1966). The Arctic cod prefers low temperatures and its distribution is often associated with ice (Hognestad,1968)"--Introduction.
