Before establishing a network of recording stations the Meteorological Branch of the Department of Transport, now the Atmospheric Environment Service of the Department of the Environment; the Experimental Farms Service of the Canada Department of Agriculture and the Division of Building Research of the National Research Council held planning discussions in 1957 and 1958"--page 1.
