5203 |a"Electro-optical (EO) guided weapons represent a significant and rapidly proliferating threat to Canadian Forces (CF). Therefore, developing and maintaining appropriate countermeasures is critical to improve platform survivability. The CF have a need for a comprehensive and thorough approach to provide the best reliable answer to EO warfare problems, timely and adapted to the needs. In this perspective, the Virtual Range for Advanced Platform Protection (VRAPP) is a system of systems providing technology for an EO virtual proving ground for the purpose of achieving a more robust, adaptable and agile force protection and, ultimately, to improve combat effectiveness in high threat environments. The project documentation includes guidelines, system overviews, a technical data package, a statement of requirements and technical specifications. This report presents the system overview of the KARMA simulation framework. The system overview summarizes the KARMA facility and its capabilities with references to existing technical documentation. The KARMA system overview will be the starting point for the design of the VRAPP simulation framework.
