The analysis of group structures under varying conditions of task load / James R. Taylor.: Co24-257/1976E-PDF

"It is my objective to (1) propose a procedure for the coding of sequences of verbal behavior emitted by members of small task-oriented groups within the framework of a communications model of task groups, and (2) demonstrate the utility of this coding system for the analysis of emergent organizational structures, using data obtained in a laboratory specially constructed for this project. The method which I propose incorporates features of existing coding systems, but differs from these latter in the application of theoretical principles derived from the fields of cybernetics and linguistics. The proposed system provides for types of analysis of control processes not foreseen by other currently-used systems"--page 3.
