Assessment methodology for Northwest Atlantic shrimp stocks / by D.G. Parsons.: Fs70-8/83-13E-PDF

"Fisheries for the northern shrimp (Pandalus borealis) in the Canadian Northwest Atlantic are relatively new. Assessment of the stocks has been based on experience from more well-established fisheries which utilize various exploitation rates applied to estimates of stock size obtained from a real expansion methods. Improvements in currently used methodology can be made through a more complete understanding of shrimp biology, addressing problems such as growth, mortality, recruitment, predator-prey relationships and environmental factors"--Abstract.
