The native food fisheries and the potential impacts of oil spills near or en route to Kitimat, Port Angeles and Cherry Point / by Will McKay.: En40-240/78-21E-PDF
"This brief report has two main purposes. The first purpose is to document all the relevant information which is presently available on the native food fisheries in B.C. and to discuss, to the extent possible, the socio and economic importance of the food fisheries. The second purpose is to report on the possible impacts on the food fisheries of oil spills and tanker related problems and to discuss these in the context of current fishery management policies. The first part is relatively straightforward, involving simply a comprehensive review of available statistics, reports and analyses on native food fishing. The second part is more difficult because the findings are based solely upon assumed impacts of hypothetical oil spills varying by spill location, size and time of year"--Introduction, page 1.
