"A bacteriological survey of the bivalve molluscan shellfish growing waters of Hornby Island and selected areas of Denman Island and Baynes Sound was conducted from February 4-22, 1980, by the Environmental Protection Service. The survey was conducted to classify the shellfish growing waters as to their acceptability for the purpose of shellfish harvesting. A sanitary survey was conducted concurrently to identify and evaluate the sources of fecal pollution to the marine waters"--Abstract, page i.
