Towards an information society / Lucie Deschênes.Co28-1/96-1992E-PDF

"This report is a multidimensional, macroscopic analysis of the changes resulting from the so-called information revolution and is intended to clarify the long-term consequences of these changes. The close connections between economic growth and cultural sovereignty, closely linked to NITs, is one of the issues examined. As background to the specific issues raised by the relationships among technology, economy and culture, which is the main focus of the study, the first part of this document describes the evolving information environment, while the second part sketches the social issues that will have to be dealt with in the political arena if we hope to control the future"--Introduction, page 1.
