"As a result of human activity in the Beaufort Sea and the surrounding region, waste material is accumulating along the Beaufort shoreline. Between 1974 and 1990 eleven shoreline drift waste surveys were conducted by the Department of Environment, Environmental Protection Service (EPS) Yukon and North West Territories (NWT) divisions.
