"Environmental Protection has monitored marine waters around coastal pulpmills since 1976. Gold River has been part of an annual routine marine monitoring programme which includes all coastal mills. Water quality records focus on temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen and colour relative to water depth. Sediment grabs were collected for trace metal, volatile residue and particle size analysis. Biota for trace metal analyses were collected and included intertidal algae and subtidal trawls of fish and crustaceans. Data reports summarize the methods used for collection and analysis. Results are presented in tabular or graphical form without analysis or interpretation. The sole intention of these reports is to provide historical data"--Abstract, page ii.
