"An assessment of the operation and performance of the Ganges Pollution Control Centre was carried out from February 24 to March 1, 1987 by the Environmental Protection (EP), Protection and Conservation. This assessment was conducted in conjunction with a Shellfish Growing Water bacteriological survey to assess the impact of the discharge on the receiving environment. The new sewage treatment plant (STP) started operating in February 1986"--Introduction, page 1.
