Two phase sampling of the herring fishery in NAFO division 4T / by Martin Ahrens.: Fs70-8/85-46E-PDF

"Two phase sampling and one phase random sampling of a herring fishery are compared. Equations for mean weights, proportions at age, total catch, and catch at age and their variances are presented. The results of a demonstration sampling program show that neither scheme is intrinsically biased. This result is compatible with statistical theory"--Abstract.
