"The purpose of this study is to update information on the program production industry in British Columbia. A member of the program production industry is defined as any individual or company in British Columbia who was involved, in 1984-85, in the production, post-production or distribution of the film or video medium for feature film, television or non-theatrical, domestic or foreign markets. The Department of Communications conducted an initial study of the industry for the 1982-83 period. The same methodology was used in both studies. The primary source of information was the response received to questionnaires mailed to members of the industry"--Introduction, page 8.
