5203 |a"Using dimensional analysis, the bed-load discharge coefficient for the case of two-dimensional flow over dunes was expressed in terms of bed-form geometry and the sand size of the bed material. Experiments were conducted in a rectangular flume using artificial dunes and a flow visualization method to measure the flow separation length from which the coefficients were determined. The results showed that the bed-load coefficient is affected significantly by sand-grain size only when the dunes are flat. When dunes are steep, the value of the bed-load coefficient is affected mainly by the dune steepness. Application of the bed-load coefficient resulted in some improvement of estimating bed load"--Abstract.
