"It has been demonstrated that disposal of dredged sediments by dumping in open lake waters (oxic, pH 7-8) results in the release of Mn, P, Zn, dissolved organic carbon, and possibly Fe. The larger the body of receiving water, the greater the amount of release and the smaller the resulting concentration"--Abstract.
