"This somewhat detailed, but statistically simple, study of recent climatic fluctuations in Canada has been prompted by widespread concern over unusual weather conditions reported from many parts of the world during the early 1970s. Is anything happening to the "normal" Canadian weather? How unusual has it been in recent years? Is the climate deteriorating or ameliorating? It is hoped that perusal of the text and figures of this study will help in answering these questions. Also, this study should be of value to those attempting to use climatic change information in planning as well as to others who are perhaps somewhat concerned about the subject or simply curious--Introduction.
