Special study re: textile symbols (Weekend Magazine, April 14, 1973) / prepared by Daniel Starch (Canada) Limited.: RG23-126/1973E-PDF
"The purpose of this study was twofold; first, measure the readership of the Consumer and Corporate Affairs advertisement on textile warning symbols which appeared in the April 14th, 1973 issue of Weekend Magazine under the heading: "Before you buy anything made of fabric..." The results are submitted in a separate Starch readership report. Second, to examine among readers of the above publication, symbol awareness, the meaning of the symbol colours and recall of "other" sources where these textile symbols have been seen by the respondents"--page [1].
