It is the by-product of a current study being conducted by the Lands Directorate on the extent of land disturbances attributed to mining in Canada: the growth and range of reclamation research; the changes in policy and legislation affecting reclamation, the progress achieved in the past decade; and the identification of current research problems in reclamation"--Introduction, page 1.
