"Three beaches on each of Lakes Erie and Ontario, three Metropolitan Toronto and Region Conservation Authority lakes as well as six City of Toronto Department of Parks and Recreation pools were sampled regularly during the months of May, June, July and August, 1973. Water samples were analyzed for the presence of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, fecal coliforms, fecal streptococci and spread plate count. Water and sediment samples were used to determine the incidence of Salmonella sp."--Abstract, page vi.
