"In September, 1984 a Water Quality Monitoring Station was established on the Ottawa River at Lemieux Island. The study was designed to establish baseline conditions, monitor heavy metals and toxic contaminants and to assess microbiological and radionuclide concentrations in the National Capital Region. The study took place between September 1984 and March 1986"--Abstract, page iv.
