"This report is the first of four reporting on a study of the technical problems of Canadian data network interworking. This study was undertaken for the Department of Communications under Department of Supply and Services contract OSU77-00319. The overall objective was to produce an appraisal of the technical problems and cost implications of possible future interconnections and interworking between the following Canadian data networks: Infoswitch, Datapac, Telex, TWX, dial telephone, and Infodat and Dataroute leased lines. The major emphasis was to be on the Datapac-Infoswitch and Infoswitch-dialed telephone interconnections. … The overall study is divided into four major areas, each with a separate report. This report considers the first item: the identification of potentially desirable data network interconnections, with comments on their technical and economic feasibility"--Introduction, page 1.
