"The objective of this study is to provide estimates of weather and weather-related factors that could have a significant effect on offshore drilling operations in Lancaster Sound. Winds, waves, visibility, and structural icing caused by freezing spray are described in terms of the average and extreme values that can be expected to occur during the part of the year in which the Sound is not ice covered. Where possible, values are compared with those from areas where offshore drilling has already taken place or is proposed"--Summary.
