"This is the third of a projected four-volume series outlining the history of the Royal Canadian Air Force, which was promulgated (by administrative fiat) on 1 April 1924 and absorbed into the tri-service Canadian Armed Forces (via the Canadian Forces Reorganization Act) on 1 February 1968. This volume traces the activities of the RCAF Overseas — those parts of the service which were based (at various times and in widely differing quantities) in Northwest Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Far Eastern theatres of war"--General Introduction, page [xxiii].
