Coordinate alternatives for flexible spacecraft dynamics analysis / author: P.C. Hughes ; prepared by: Dynacon Enterprises Ltd.: Co24-3/1-83-049E-PDF
"Many types of coordinates can and should be used in the structural dynamics modeling of flexible spacecraft. Coordinate alternatives include absolute coordinates, relative coordinates, physical coordinates, and modal coordinates - and the list does not end there. For example, within the genus 'modal coordinate' there are two important species: 'constrained appendage' modal coordinate, and 'unconstrained vehicle' modal coordinate. This report seeks to define the most important types of coordinates and to establish the relationships (transformations) between them"--Summary, page iii.
