"Supporting families through loss and grief is an integral part of Family-Centred Maternity and Newborn Care. The emotional impact of perinatal loss is felt by parents, family members, friends and the health care providers (HCPs) caring for the bereaved family. For some parents and families, this is their first major bereavement and they are unfamiliar with the process and effects of grieving. The role of health care services and community organizations is critical in supporting families experiencing loss any time during the perinatal care trajectory"--Page 1.
