"A field usable, person portable analytical system (Level 2) for the determination of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in oil, water and soil, and from solid surfaces (e.g. concrete, asphalt, wood, etc.) has been developed. The test used in this system is based on the quantitative conversion of the chlorine atoms on chlorinated organic compounds to chloride ions. These ions are then extracted into an aqueous solution and measured by titrimetric means"--Abstract.
