What distinguishes innovative firms from other firms : results from the 1999 Innovation Survey / Pierre Therrien.: Iu37-25/2000E-PDF

"Using data from the 1999 Survey of Innovation, this paper evaluates the incidence innovation for the manufacturing industries between 1997-1999. Data shows that more than 80 percent of manufacturing firms have introduced an innovation between 1997 and 1999, and that the ICT industry is the most innovative. This paper also examines the business practices followed by innovative as well as non-innovative firms. Results validate the assumption of complementarities of activities linked to innovation. Being involved in several activities to innovation drastically increases the likelihood of being a successful innovator"--Abstract.
