"The audit centers mainly on the correctional interventions program activity. This activity focuses "on addressing offender needs across a number of life areas that are associated to human behaviour" and is noted as being "necessary to help bring positive changes in behaviour and to safely and successfully reintegrate offenders back into Canadian communities." The audit is also linked to the CSC priorities of safe transition of eligible offenders into the community and the enhancement of CSC’s capacity to provide effective interventions for First Nations, Métis and Inuit offenders"--Executive Summary, page 4.
