Ecological land classification of Kootenay National Park. Volume II, Wildlife resource / David M. Poll, Marian M. Porter, Geoffrey L. Holroyd, Ray M. Wershler and Les W. Gyug.: CW66-645/1984E-PDF

"The Kootenay National Park (KNP) ecological (biophysical) land classification was developed from 1981 to 1984. The theory and methodology are similar to those of the ecological land classification of Banff and Jasper National Parks. The classification is based on an integrated resource inventory in which all resource components (parent material, landform, soil, vegetation and wildlife) are dealt with together in a common land classification scheme at a 1:50,000 mapping scale"--Introduction, page 3.
