5203 |a"This report provides an introduction to the problem of analyzing the performance of satellite on-board regenerative repeaters. Two specific group demodulator architectures are discussed: one based on a polyphase network followed by an FFT processor, and the other based on a chirp Fourier transform implemented using surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices. Due to imperfect filtering and channel separation in the group demodulator, intersymbol and interchannel interference are introduced into the demodulated output. To show how it is possible to derive error performance curves in the presence of intersymbol and interchannel interference, two different analysis methods are presented"--Abstract.
