"The main role of the Reserve Force (the Reserves) is to augment, sustain and support the Regular Force of Canada’s military. Reservists are paid in accordance with the conditions associated with one of the following categories of service: Class A Service: Similar to casual work, it consists of four or more evenings and one or more weekends per month. Members are paid on the basis of attendance using sign-in or timesheets. Class B Service: Continuous service ranging from 13 days to three years. Members are paid based on the terms of contracts. Class C Service: Equivalent to full-time Regular Force service for a period greater than 90 days"--Background, page 5.
