The network contains three digital phase shifters which can be set such that the antenna radiates any one of the clockwise circular, counter-clockwise circular, or linear polarization at any orientation. As an example, this paper presents a circuit configuration for a wideband microstrip patch antenna operating at L-Band. The patch can radiate any one of four polarization states, with at least a 10% bandwidth. This configuration is of particular interest to mobile wireless applications which would benefit from polarization diversity"--Abstract, page 1. |
