Women, peace and security : Chiefs of Defence Network Charter 2021.D2-437/2020E-PDF

"United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1325, which established the Women Peace and Security (WPS) agenda, was unanimously adopted on 31 October 2000. The Resolution addresses the disproportionate impact of armed conflict on women and girls, the historic failure to include women in decision-making processes and peace negotiations, and recognizes the important role that women play in preventing and resolving conflict"--Background, page 5.
