"The report attempts to discuss some regional aspects of Canada's economic development rather than the generality of the subject. The selection of the points of interest and the character of the study owe much to the circumstances under which it was prepared. Essentially the report arose from the desire of the Commission to be certain that the interests of all of the regions would be taken into account in their considerations of the future prospects of the nation and the problems associated with this development"--Page 1.
