520 |a"AM broadcast antennas are designed to have patterns which provide an adequate broadcasting service, while at the same time satisfying domestic and international regulations with respect to permissible levels of interference with signals from other stations operating in the same frequency band. The erection of a tower or highrise building near a broadcast antenna could possibly distort the antenna's pattern such that the above objectives are not met. It is the purpose of this report to: 1) provide the engineer with sufficient information to enable him to compute whether or not a given structure will cause serious pattern distortion, and 2) investigate methods for reducing the strength of a tower's scattered field; thereby reducing the tower's pattern distorting effects"--Abstract.
