Subjective evaluation of the effect of noise and interference on frequency modulated NTSC television signals / by M. Bouchard and G. Chouinard and R. Trenholm.: Co24-3/7-1367-1984E-PDF
"The future environment of broadcasting satellites may well be governed by the limiting factor of interference between television signals from neighbouring satellites. A program of tests was performed to evaluate subjectively the effect of aggregate interference and/or noise on the impairment of television pictures. Up to four interfering channels were added in an environment resembling that of future broadcasting satellite systems including up to two co-frequency channels and up to two adjacent channels. Also results of just-perceptible interference tests due to adjacent channel interferer at various intercarrier spacings and for different receive filter characteristics on the wanted signal path are presented. The results of these tests are considered valuable in the study of the quality standard for the RARC-83 for the planning of the broadcasting-satellite service"--Abstract, page 1.
