"Canadian catches of redfish from Div. 3O continued to be low in 1986 with only 139 t reported. This represented only 1% of the TAC and about 1.5% of the country's allocation. Catch rates show a considerable amount of inter-annual fluctuation with no apparent overall trend except for an inexplicable increase to a higher level between 1978 and 1979. The TAC's have never been achieved for this stock. Over the history of the fishery, the average annual catch is about 13,000 t"--Abstract, page 2.
