"This independent assurance report was prepared by the Office of the Auditor General of Canada on the procurement of complex information technology solutions for the federal government. Our responsibility was to provide objective information, advice, and assurance to assist Parliament in its scrutiny of the government's management of resources and programs, and to conclude on whether Employment and Social Development Canada, Public Services and Procurement Canada, Shared Services Canada, and the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat complied in all significant respects with the applicable criteria. … The objective of this audit was to determine whether selected organizations planned and carried out procurements for complex IT solutions that supported the achievement of business outcomes and the government's commitment to promote fairness, openness, and transparency in the process"--About the audit, page 23.
