Organic contaminants in the Great Lakes 1986-1990 / prepared by Serge L'Italien.: En37-308/1993E-PDF

"Large-volume surface water samples have been collected in the spring from 1986-1990 throughout the Great Lakes. Mean lakewide concentrations have been determined for organochlorine, pesticides, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) , polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and chlorobenzenes using the Maximum Likelihood Estimation method (MLE). The objectives of this study were to assess temporal changes on a-lake-by-lake basis and differences between lakes, to identify input areas and to compare concentrations to water quality criteria"--Abstract, page viii.
