Polychlorinated biphenyl and chlorinated pesticide content of wastewater suspended solids : data summary report / by: George Derksen.: En84-222/1997E-PDF
"The Fraser River Action Plan, a six-year basin-wide program, was initiated in 1991 to assess the condition of the river (FRAP, 1892). Determining the quality and quantity of wastewater discharges and estimating contaminant loadings was a component of Environmental Protection Branch's contribution to the program. Crispin et al., 1995 reported that, even today, many years after restrictions of PCB manufacture and use were introduced, cities continue to act as sources of airborne PCBs to surrounding areas. Congeners 28 and 52 dominated the urban air mixture. Coplanar and ortho-substituted PCBs have been reported to represent an important group of halogen containing anthropogenic compounds which occur in trace amounts in sewage sludges (Berset and Holzer, 1996)"--Introduction.
