"The following report provides some analysis regarding the relationships between industrial production and the levels of off-site hazardous waste disposal for the pulp and paper sector, iron and steel sector, and petroleum sector. … The comparison of levels of hazardous waste disposal to industrial production is conducted using annual production and waste data. The relationships between industrial production and hazardous waste disposal are presented graphically. Graphs are presented for each industrial sector which plot production trends against levels of waste disposal. For each industry sector a brief analysis is provided, in advance of the illustrations, describing the relationship between level of hazardous waste disposal and production. In addition, levels of hazardous waste disposal for the various industry sectors is further broken down and presented at a facility specific level. This report does not address the issue of why changes have occurred in production and waste levels. It simply illustrates the historical relationships based on existing data"--Introduction.
