"In December of 1980 the Canadian government banned the use of urea formaldehyde foam insulation (UFFI) under the Hazardous Products Act. In June of 1981 the UFFI Information and Coordination Centre was established. Its original mandate was to evaluate the extent of the problems with this insulating material. The mandate was subsequently refined, effectively giving the Centre responsibility for the administration of the Program and the coordination of research into UFFI. Although not exhaustive, the following bibliography contains most references which pertain to UFFI itself and to formaldehyde. It also refers to relevant subject matter which derives directly from either of these two areas"--Introduction, page ii.
