"Over the past year, the COVID-19 pandemic spread quickly around the world, rapidly turning from a health crisis into an economic crisis. The arts, culture, heritage, and sports sectors were not spared, and among the first to feel the pandemic’s impacts. The closure of theatres, parks and museums and the cancellation of festivals and sporting events are just a few examples of the pandemic’s heavy toll.
