"The Royal Canadian Navy and the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) operate various vessels to fulfill their respective mandates. In 2010, the Government of Canada launched the National Shipbuilding Strategy to guide the renewal of the federal fleet; its objectives are to: renew the federal fleet in a timely and affordable manner; create and support a sustainable marine sector in Canada; and generate economic benefits for Canada"--Introduction, page [1].
