Summary report on IRQC studies no. 78-79 : major cations, arsenic, selenium and total PCBs / V. Cheam.: En36-522/134-1981E-PDF

"The purpose of the study is two-fold: to generate additional specification data and to ensure comparability of data generated by Water Quality Branch laboratories. Specification data are needed to provide demonstrated levels of confidence to users of NAQUADAT databank. A sediment reference material was used in an attempt to specify the complex analysis of PCBs, which resulted in good precision. Two additional levels of major cations were successfully specified along with anions, arsenic and selenium in water = Na, K, Mg, Ca, Siog, S04, Cl, N03/N02, As and Se. A few analytical results were identified deviant in spite of rigourous in-house quality control activities"--Executive Summary.
