"The Audit of Information Technology (IT) Security was included in the Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) 2017-2018 to 2019-2020 Risk-Based Audit Plan, approved by the Deputy Minister on March 13, 2017. The audit was identified as a high priority on the basis that IT security is complex and important to the operations of the Department, and very sensitive with potential for high impact of risk. IT Security is responsible for safeguarding personal and sensitive information and IT systems are part of the Department’s critical infrastructure"--Background, page 1.
