Adjusted price index and monthly adjusted consumer expenditure basket weights / by Gerry O'Donnell and Clément Yélou.: CS62-0014/2021-16E-PDF
"Using various sources of expenditure data, Statistics Canada, in partnership with the Bank of Canada, has estimated monthly adjusted consumer expenditure weights that reflect shifts in consumption patterns as the COVID-19 pandemic evolves. The Adjusted price index has been updated to incorporate the 2020 basket weights and is now based on a Similarity-linked Fisher price index formula. The expenditure data cover all goods and services in the Consumer Price Index (CPI), and provide snapshot estimates of expenditure weights for June, July, August and September 2021. These estimates can provide insight into the impact of COVID-19 on the headline CPI"--Provided by publisher.
