"This report is the first in a series of seven on Aboriginal Policing Programs in Canada. Part I outlines the information provided by respondents concerning the role of Aboriginal police officers in the policing of Aboriginal communities. Highlighted in this report are examples of current Aboriginal policing arrangements which employ Aboriginal police officers, training initiatives for Aboriginal police officers, and strategies for recruiting Aboriginal personnel.
