5203 |a"A mathematical model to predict the mean bed level, water level and discharge as a function of time and distance along a mobile boundary channel is described. The model uses the friction factor relations developed by Kishi and Kuroki which take into account the various bed forms that are found in natural streams. The sediment transport relations developed by Ackers and White which were found to be superior to most of the available methods were adopted for this model. The model was verified in a laboratory flume by simulating degradation and aggradation processes. The experimental results compare favourably with the model predictions"--Abstract.
